Sourdough AI LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates precipitation.ai ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Email address, password (stored hashed by AWS Cognito, we never see your plaintext password)
  • Payment information: Processed and stored by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details on our servers. We receive and store a Stripe Customer ID and subscription status.
  • Communication: Any emails or messages you send us

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, search queries entered, markets viewed
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution
  • Log data: IP address, access timestamps, referring URLs
  • API usage: Endpoints called, request frequency, API key used (not the key itself in logs)

Information from Third Parties

We do not receive any information about your trading activity, positions, or account balances from Kalshi, Polymarket, or any other third-party platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process subscriptions and payments
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, billing)
  • Monitor and enforce API rate limits
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do NOT use your information to:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Track your trading activity on Kalshi, Polymarket, or any other platform
  • Make trading decisions on your behalf
  • Target you with third-party advertising

4. Data Sharing

We share information only in these circumstances:

  • Payment processing: With Stripe for subscription billing
  • Cloud infrastructure: With Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, database, and authentication services
  • Analytics: With privacy-focused analytics tools (no personally identifiable information shared)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or legal process
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you)

We do NOT sell your personal information.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after deletion request
  • Usage logs: Retained for 90 days
  • Payment records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years)
  • API usage data: Retained for 90 days for rate limiting, aggregated statistics retained indefinitely

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Encryption at rest (AWS DynamoDB encryption, Cognito password hashing)
  • API key hashing (we store hashed keys, not plaintext)
  • Access controls and least-privilege permissions

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy with an updated date.
